The Helen O’Grady Drama Academy loves to partner with local schools, and to conduct classes at pre-primary, primary and secondary schools, both during school hours and after school. The Academy’s extensive international drama curriculum is used exclusively in these schools and students can progress from ages 3 – 18 without ever repeating a lesson. All teachers employed by the Academy have specialist training in the Helen O’Grady Drama System.

DRAMA CLASSES
– After school programme

This is one of our most popular offerings at schools across South Africa. We conduct our regular programme after school (described here), on school premises, exclusively for the students at the school. The Helen O’Grady Drama System is implemented, by our trained teachers, and all administration is taken care of by the Academy.

We cater for Kindy, Lower Primary, Upper Primary and Youth Theatre classes. There are minimum requirements for the classes to run successfully. Please look up your nearest Academy here to make enquiries for your school.

There are many schools across South Africa who offer performing arts as one of the creative arts disciplines as required by the Department of Basic Education. The Helen O’Grady Drama Academy offers its services to schools need assistance in this area, or who do not have a drama teacher on staff. One of our trained teachers conducts drama classes during the school day, ensuring that the school’s learners meet the requirements as laid out by the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement.

The Helen O’Grady Drama Academy is always happy to visit schools and conduct free drama workshops. The purpose of this is for schools to see how the programme works, and to allow learners at those schools an opportunity to have a unique drama experience.
